The Toronto Raptors is an elite team that is located in Canada. They are the only Canadian basketball team in the NBA today. They came together in 1995. They're used to be two Canadian teams in the NBA, the Vancouver Grizzlies and the Toronto Raptors. In 2001 the Vancouver Grizzlies moved to Memphis Tennessee. During the early years they really struggled to make to the playoffs. In 1998 they drafted a "Future Hall of Famer, Vince Carter. Once he was drafted the team finally made it to the playoffs three times in a row. They also won their very first playoffs series in 2001. Then the Raptors failed to make the playoffs two years in a row. In the 2003-04 season the Raptors traded Vince Carter to go and play for a different team. When Vince Carter left, the team struggled until Chris Bosh became the team leader, and the Raptors made it to the playoffs in 2007-08. After the 2007-08 season the Raptors failed to make the playoffs again.
In 2010 Chris Bosh left the Raptors to play for the Miami Heat. Then the team struggled yet again until they received Kyle Lowry and Demar DeRozan in 2012.
At the start of the 2013-14 season the Raptors struggled during the first half of the season. After the all-star break the Raptors started to win a number of games. At the end of the season they won 48 games and made it to the playoffs, but they got eliminated in the first round.
At the start of the 2014-15 season the Raptors came out blazing, running through their opponents making it look easy. After the all-star break the Raptors struggled to win games that they should've won. At the end of the season the Raptors won 49 games, but for a second straight year they got eliminated in the first round.
At the start of the 2015-16 season the Raptors came out struggling yet again. After the all-star break the Raptors came out blazing hot winning a number of terrific games. At the end of the season the Raptors won a franchise record 56 games and was second in the Eastern Conference for the very first time in franchise history.
At the start of the playoffs the Raptors hosted the Indiana Pacers and they able to defeat Indiana in seven games to advance to the second to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first in franchise history.
